BEST BBQ IN
ALBUQUERQUE
Growing up in the borderland of El Paso, TX, in the small town of Chaparral, NM grilling was my passion. Five years ago and throughout the pandemic, smoking meats turned into a passion, cooking for small catering events, friends, and family. Everyone telling me I should open up my own place…start my own business. The rubs, the sauce, the low and slow, the backyard griller took a leap of faith to combine the love and passion of cooking to please others and open up in the town called the "Duke City ".

Our Word For It
“At Duke City BBQ, I had an amazing experience. The prices were reasonable, the food was solid, and the staff was absolutely fantastic. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. The menu offered a variety of mouthwatering barbecue options, and each dish was expertly prepared with rich, smoky flavors. I appreciated that they provided excellent value for the price. The friendly staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch.”

“Entering into Duke City BBQ what is immediately clear is that the owner recognizes that setting the right mood can be just as important as serving good food. The ambiance evokes southern themes and the country music (which I am normally not a fan of but in this case it works well) makes a potential customer forget for a moment that they are only a major street away from Cliff's Amusement Park.
Now, let's talk about that all important topic when considering any BBQ joint. The food was INCREDIBLE. I had a "Dinosaur Beef Rib" and did it ever deliver on it's namesake. Coming in at nearly 2lbs of meat on a single Flinstone-ian bone, it was an exemplar of well executed barbecue. Tender and practically falling off the bone and paired with a side of Mac & Cheese (which I covered in their spicy BBQ sauce), my wife and I managed to feel completely full with just a single helping. My father had the pork loin and it was also very good (at least what he was willing to share was good). I will say unequivocally my only issue was that it was over too quick. I am already thinking about a loaded baked potato with brisket. Can't say enough about how great my experience was, and if you're a BBQ fan, it's worth a visit.”

“ I ride my bicycle past this place weekly and I decided to stop in. I'm glad that I did. I ordered a pork spare ribs, cream corn, and bbq beans. Everything was tasty and fresh. I've missed this place for six months, what a mistake. Next time I'll try the chicken, brisket and sausage. Duke City BBQ is arguably the local BBQ in ABQ. Fast and friendly service. A very clean restaurant. Go check them out.”
